Since the enactment of <American Invention Acts> last September, the
revision parts include such system as prior art, grace period, best
practice mode and etc.Besides, post-grant re-examination procedure  of USPTO was redesigned;Priority review system and the policy of supporting
medium and small-sized enterprises were added. In order to enable more patent
attorney to know about  <American Invention Acts>, Jefffrey Bergman and
Chyau Liang, partners from  OSHALIANG Intellectual Property Law gave 
lectures about the patent law reform of America on April 13, 2012.
       Firstly, Jefffrey Bergman deliberately elaborated the practice procedure
after granting patents, including ex perte re-examination, interpartes
re-examination, examination after grantation, and supplemental examination
 and so on. In addition, Jefffrey Bergman also introduced the summary of
rules of trial practice, including oral argument, real party in interest,
direct testimony in form of affidavt, introductory decision and etc.
His speech is humorous and knowledgable, which enlightened the mind
 and broaden the horizon of attendees.
       Mr. Chyau Liang mainly introduced the argument skills about how to
judge the novelty of patents and how to answer the office action
in America. After putting into effect of  <American Invention Acts>,
many patent attorneys in China are bewildered in dealing with foreign
commissioning work, therefore, Mr. Liang’s speech play an important
role in helping them a lot.  He talked about the normal language in
writing claims, grasping gists, detailed items in description, which
 is great help for Chinese patent attorneys. In addition, Mr. Liang
introduced some exchange skills when patent attorys communicate
with examiners so as to improve the efficiency . Then both speakers
answers the questions raised by attening patent attorneys.
      When the lectures were over, all the attending patent attorneys
applauded warmly to express their sincere thanks for wonderful lectures
given by two partners from OSHALIANG Intellectual Property Law. It's
a precious opportunity for ACPAA to welcome excellent speakers to
give presentation for patent attorneys in China.
